Getting Started with iOS


    iOS (iPhone OS) is an Operating System used for mobile devices manufactured by Apple Inc. This operating system powers many of the company's mobile devices including iphone, ipad and ipod touch. Also, WatchOS used in Apple watch and Apple TV OS variant depends on iOS. Initially it was known as iPhone OS later renamed as iOS to reflect its systems support for multiple Apple devices.
   iPhone is the second most popular operating system globally after Android based on sales. Originally iOS was unveiled in 2007 for iphone later it has been extended to support iPod Touch and iPad. iOS shared same framework with OS X. OS X is nothing but the Operating system that powers MAC devices that were built on UNIX foundation.
     The first version if iOS was released on June 2007 code named Alphine, alone with Apple's first iphone. There are so many versions of iOS as listed below with the latest being version 10.0 code named WhiteTail that was released September 2016 and the latest iphone being iphone 7.
